David Jones Flower Show

Inspiration comes in many forms and sometimes in unexpected places. Who would have thought that on this grey, rainy, miserable spring (!!!) day that a chain store could be my source … David Jones is hosting the launch of their annual Flower Show. You only need a tiny glimpse of this floral extravaganza to know that the theme this year is ‘Carnival of Colour’. The windows are amazing but only a taste of the floral displays throughout the ground floor.

It certainly brightened up my day. I had the most fun I’d had in a while appreciating and exploring the 450,000 blooms – a world away from the sea of cardboard boxes I’m drowning under at work – items I’m organising for my shoot next week and hard decisions that need to be made…and soon.

Check out this most extravagant and beautiful display for yourself at David Jones Elizabeth Street Store. From now until September 14th with complimentary guided tours on some days.
